Medical Advisory Board
As from 2005 International Assistance Group established a joint member Medical Advisory Board. This entity complements the existing Medical Committee, which gathers the physicians of all 25 member companies.
The Medical Advisory Board consists of physicians who specialize in international assistance, travel medicine and evacuation medicine. The value of this Medical Advisory Board is related to the experience of the member physicians combined with their strong ties to academic medical institutions in their home countries.
The Medical Advisory Board has both internal and external functions. It interfaces with the external industry from a medical perspective through representation at international conferences, press releases to the media and the publication of medical protocols. Internally, it investigates any internal medical issues, vet medical protocols proposed by the Medical Committee and form part of the management team for any activation of the Group's Disaster Management Plan.
The Medical Advisory Board approves the medical protocols produced by the Medical Committee.
It brings also value to the organization in respect of medical benchmarking, quality assurance and marketing.
